Sometimes Wufei thought of leaving his lover. Yes, the man was beyond attentive and loving, but that was only at times. Not only at night or any such rubbish, but when he managed to make time for it.
None of the other pilots had known, but for just under three weeks during the war, he and Yuy had dated in some fashion or another. It was ancient history now, what with Yuy being damn near married to Maxwell, and the same with Barton and Winner. To be completely honest, it was just the two of them trying to find some semblance of comfort in someone alive.
But whatever way, Wufei had already dated one man who was married to his mission, he didn't need to deal with that again, and he didn't want to either.
Sometimes Wufei wondered how Maxwell dealt with Yuy's attachment to his laptop. Had he managed to break Yuy's habits?
Even if he had, Yuy was always going to risk his life for his mission, but perhaps if his lover became his mission, they would have a for the most part properly functioning relationship.
What Wufei wanted was for his lover to want him. To want him more than anything or anyone else in the entire universe. To see in Zechs' eyes that he wanted his lover. Found him attractive constantly. Loved him unconditionally. Wanted to be with him forever. Just as Wufei knew he felt toward Zechs and openly showed him.
Perhaps, Wufei thought absently, distracting him from his assignments may work. Doubtful, yet possible.
For whatever reason, when Zechs came home that night, he found the power shut off, and only a couple dozen candles lit to guide through the apartment.
"Fei this is cute really. Turn the power back on now, I need to finish my report." Zechs called out into the dim apartment.
Wufei moved silently through the near-dark to wrap his arms around his lover's waist.
"Zechs, I know as well as you do this report isn't due for a few days. Let me take your mind off of everything?"
